Learning by cooking

Virtually all of the recipes that we cook, must be measured before. When measuring, children compare and make calculations and learn the relation between the parts and the whole. When you make a mixture you can use another way to measure: with the spoons to check how many small spoons fit in a large; or add the total of measuring cups used in a recipe. Measurements are essential skills that help the child to develop the most complex mathematical skills such as geometry and algebra. That is why a good way to learn those skills is by making a recipe.
