Measure for artists 2

Imagen
Have you ever tried to draw in a different size one picture that you love? Sometimes we do not know how to change the scale of a picture in order to draw it, here you can see how to do it in a easy way! The first thing that you have to do is to make perpendicular lines in your picture to make squares. The tiniest they are, the best and more precise you are going to draw it. Then, you enumerate the columns and ranks. Now, it is time to take you big paper and your pencil and do the same number of columns and ranks in the same space. You are going to obtain the same number of square, if you are not sure, count them! When you are ready, start to observe each square. What is inside (6, 2) (rank, column)? I can see a white space, so that space is not going to be drawing. What is inside (5, 6)? I can see a red part of the left pear, so draw in the colors that you are seeing on this part.  Are you able to try it?

Hello lovers of art! I have to say that, if you want to be a real artist, you have to know about measure. We know that, all the thing that we want to draw, has a measure, and sometimes, it is not easy to draw it as it is in real life. That is why we need tools to measure what we are drawing, and if we use them, then we will draw whatever we want more exactly and precise. Here there are three ways to use the measure to draw: 3 tools to measure while drawing: 1. Use various units of measure For example, if you know the measure of the three parts A, B and C: A is from the knee to the armpit, B is  from  the elbow to the chin, and C is from the belly button to the feet With this three units of measure, you can  obtain  also the half of that measure more or less: a, b and c.  If you are  coping  an  sculpture  like this, you can try with another A, B and C, and a, b and c. The only rule is that A, B and C has to be very different me...

Waldorf-Montessori year calendar

Imagen
Hi! Here I am with a new interesting post about the concepts year, season, month, week, and day. In this entry, I introduce you, the Waldorf-Montessori year calendar. It is a very visual and good way to understand the pass of a year in children of 4 and 5 years. It symbolize with the balls and the pieces of colors the cycle that it completed when a moth has passed and when the year has passed. It is a funny and active way to understand those new concepts for them. It is based on Montessori and Waldorf methodologies, two alternative pedagogies that you can investigate in other blogs like: http://www.pequefelicidad.com  or  https://www.demicasaalmundo.com/blog/11-consejos-aplicar-pedagogia-waldorf-casa/ How the Waldorf-Montessori year calendar works: The  months  are symbolized by two elements: the central wood base with the twelve sections with its colors and figures associated to each moth. The figures can be made by the children...

The solar clock

Imagen
As we said, the time is difficult concept for children, that is why, we have to use different ways to understand the time, it will be easier for them. One funny and old way to know the time, is the  solar clock .   The solar clock is an instrument used in very old times with the purpose of measuring the endure of the hours, minutes and seconds (the endure of the time). It uses the shadow of an long piece on the surface to indicate the position of the sun during the day movement and, therefore, the time. This long piece is called "gnomon".  How to use the solar clock with children: HUMAN SOLAR CLOCK  One example that we can put into practice, is a human solar clock in which the gnomon is a person that is on the middle of the solar clock. The own shadow of the person, shows the time. This type of solar clock can be painted on the floor of the playground of a school and they can experiment and see the similarity with a normal clock. They can also make ...

What is time?

Hi there! Today, I am gonna so you practical ways to teach how to measure the time. It is a fact that children do not understand the time because it is a difficult assimilation for them.We cannot forget that, unless we have assimilate this concept perfectly, time is an abstract concept.  We cannot touch it, that is why is difficult for children to understand  the duration and the order of the events. Furthermore, they know that it is something important because adults are referring to it all the time. According to the experts, they can understand perfectly the concept at the age of seven, but we can teach them them since three or four.  3 useful activities to work in the measure of the time: 1. Use sand clocks. They can use sand clocks and try to last the minutes that the sand clock last. It can be useful in activities that the child do normally very quickly and it has to be done slowly or in activities that the child do very slowly and it has to be done fas...

Here it is a recipe to put into practice the use of the utensils in the post “Learning by cooking”! To cook, you have to be aware of the measuring unity that you want to measure to choose the utensils that you are going to need. If you are measuring with the weigh, probably you will obtain grams and with the spoons, pitchers or cups, you will obtain ml. Thermometer. Let's start!      1. Measure all the ingredients and prepare them to start.      2. To make the cake, first we have to mix the eggs with the sugar  and the vanilla essence. Then we  incorporate the cream and oil,  mixing softly. Finally, sift the flour and incorpo...

Learning by cooking

Virtually all of the recipes that we cook, must be measured before. When  measuring, children compare and make calculations and learn the relation between  the parts and the whole. When you make a mixture you can use another way to  measure: with the spoons to check how many small spoons fit in a large; or add the  total of measuring cups used in a recipe. Measurements are essential skills that help  the child to develop the most complex mathematical skills such as geometry and  algebra. That is why a good way to learn those skills is by making a recipe.  What utensils do we need to measure ingredients? Scale We can weigh the mass of the ingredients in grams (g). Is the basic utensil for your kitchen, so get hold of it! Measuring spoons This utensils are useful to measure liquids and ingredients in pounder in small quantity. The biggest’s capacity use to be 15 ml and the smallest 1,25 ml. ...
